Behind Goucher’s New Admissions Strategy

Goucher College is reaching peak admissions season, with many high school seniors in the heat of decision making. In response to the recent surplus of requests for tours, the Admissions Office has been struggling to keep up. The influx has been a stress on the admissions team and even with the new hires, help is needed.

With no other choice, Goucher had to call in for back-up. Looking for helpers that are always available, can walk backwards and look snazzy in a crew neck: Goucher has hired Geese. You may have noticed the increase in geese strolling on campus. Although many students think it is because of the recent hot weather, the geese are actually on duty. The geese of Goucher are the newest admissions ambassadors, giving tours of our beautiful campus. Fellow admissions ambassadors have expressed their joy for such enthusiastic workers. (INSERT QUOTE) These new employees don’t come without concerns, “I was once attacked by a goose,” expressed Taylor Rogers ‘27. The geese gave no intelligible comment. Geese could be the campus’ solutions to so much more: Goucher guide shortages, backup for campus safety, or maybe even SGA president?
