The Let’s Talk About Sex event is back this Friday, November 21st! Let’s Talk About Sex is an annual event hosted by the Wellness Center that provides an open space for healthy conversation and education around sex, intimacy, love, and relationships. The goal is to create an inclusive environment for students to learn and make informed decisions about their sexual health.

This year’s fun and judgement-free event notably has activities seen in past years, such as raffles, interactive booths, and many freebies but is being expanded in a way that we have not yet seen! With a theme of Uncover the Mystery, this year’s raffles include an assortment of sex toys, weighted blankets, noise cancelling headphones, date night kits, and even a TV. All new game elements are being added in the forms of a sex Kahoot and a Golden Condom Scavenger hunt, each with extra prizes!

Familiar Goucher offices are joining the fun this year and creating their own tables, including the Office of Student Engagement, Student Government Association, Counseling Center, and the Public Health Club. Outside organizations, including Planned Parenthood and Star Track (clinic that provides free HIV and STI testing and prevention services) will be tabling too.

On top of the education you get from this event, the first 100 people to register (starting at 1 pm) get a free Goucher blanket to truly “uncover” the mystery of sex. The food for this event includes the options of decorating your own cookie in the shape of a penis or vulva, penis waffles, cupcakes, and plenty of snacks!

Together, let’s all work towards lessening the taboo around sex. Sex is not a negative or embarrassing thing and is different for every individual. Whether you are currently sexually active, never had sex, or never planning to, this event is for everyone! We can all use more communication within relationships and respect for one another.

Our guest expert(s) from Planned Parenthood is coming to answer your burning questions about not only sex, but love and relationships as well. Ask any completely anonymous questions you have here, and come to the event to see if your question is answered! This link is also available on QR codes around campus. Goucher Peer Educators will be staffing the event, taking any last minute questions, and available to help with anything you may need!

Come to Hyman Forum in the Athenaeum from 1-4 pm Friday, November 21st and see what all the Wellness Center has in store for you!
