Are you interested in the presentation of student curation on campus? In tandem with the exhibitions in the Corrin, Rosenberg, and Silber galleries, Goucher has multiple fantasticstudent-made exhibitions currently on display that will be leaving campus soon!
The Athenaeum is currently home to four student-curated exhibitions that are well worth a visit from anyone interested in seeing pieces of Goucher’s fantastic Museum Collection. Three of these exhibits, including Moonwashed: Song Dynasty Ceramics, Buried Bottles: American History in Glass, and Glass Gardens, can be found through the library doors on the fourth floor of the Ath. These exhibits are all products of independent studies and research projects done by Goucher students and showcase interesting and rarely-exhibited objects from the collection.
Finally, on the Ruth Shapiro Lenrow ‘74 & Jay Lenrow Gallery Wall, just outside of the Pinkard Room and the Makerspace, is Scales, Feathers, & Fur: Creatures and Critters in the Goucher Museum Collection. This is a wonderful exhibit that aims to explore Goucher’s collection of objects that feature animals and encourages viewers to consider the effect that animals have on their lives and more broadly, how animals are presented in the world.
All of these wonderful exhibits were produced by Goucher students in conjunction with Goucher’s Museum Collection and will be on display until early November, so get in to see them while you still can!
