Pizzazz, Goucher’s musical theatre club, makes its comeback to campus with Trail to Oregon, performing on Friday, May 9th and Sunday, May 11th in Merrick Theatre, at 8 PM and 7 PM respectively.
Led by co-directors Rebecca Katz ‘27 and Olivia DeSena ‘27, Trail to Oregon is a musical based on the game of the same name. Entry is free, and elements of the show will be influenced by audience participation, such as naming characters.
“I think the show is really funny, and I think people will enjoy it… I’m excited to make people laugh,” says Katz.
Pizzazz aims to showcase the talent of students interested in musical theatre. Come the following semesters, the club expects to produce two shows a year and host cabaret nights to sing songs and perform group numbers.
“I wanted to be in a musical, but there weren’t…[any] to be [a] part of,” says Katz. “…I figured other people [felt] the same way and… I could help facilitate that.”
